Höhenkirchen is a village (population about 8000) in the south-east of Munich (the capital city of Bavaria), about 20km or 30min train ride from the city centre.

At present my bi.org mail is redirected to my workplace, because I do not use a separate private Internet provider. It will not be read on weekends or when I'm on holiday.

Background

I was born in Munich (with at least 5 generations of Munich-born ancestors on my father's side; to preempt questions: I am not aware of any emigrants to the US or other places), and have lived in Höhenkirchen since age 2. I went to school in Höhenkirchen (76-80) and in Ottobrunn (80-89). After military service (89-90) I studied computer science for 3 years at Churchill College in Cambridge, England (90-93) and a further 3 years Informatik at the Technische Universität München (93-96).

Since July 1996 I work for iXOS.
